SOUND at St James

Sound will be staging its first all ages music festival as part of the bicentenary celebrations of St James. Taking place at St James Concert and Assembly Hall on the 27th and 28th October, over 50 bands and musicians will take to three different stages, for 22 hours of live music.

The festival will run from 12 noon to around 11.30pm on both Saturday and Sunday, with a fully stocked bar and fantastic food available throughout, at reasonable prices. There will also be Vinyl Vaughan pop up record shop and listening room, and other weird and wonderful things.

The festival is a fund raiser for the Sound charity and The Vale Earth Fair. It has only been made possible by the continued generosity of St James, who are supporting this event as part of their Bicentenary celebrations in 2018 with a view to broadening the reach and appeal of the venue, and to demonstrate that it is here for the whole community of Guernsey.

In addition, all the musicians who are playing for free, and local sound, light and infrastructure suppliers. Their help has allowed us to make the ticket price only £10 per day.

Huge thanks go to our sponsors HMV, Randalls, Guernsey Arts Commission, Colour Monster, Chaos and Regency Events.

No animals are allowed on site.

Please do not bring any food or drink, as bags will be checked at the door. Food and Drink are an important part of feeling happy, and there will be plenty to chose from at the festival.
Downstairs in the main hall will be the main festival bar, with all your favourites at good prices.
Upstairs, the café is being taken BAO – the Asian Cafe, usually located in Mill Street. They will be serving a fantastic varied menu, including Thai street food and burgers. Veggie and vegan options will be available.
You will also be able to purchase hot drinks and snacks in the cafe.
The bar in the Dorey Room, is being taken over by the Peace Tent crew and will be serving coffee and their famous toasties. There will also be a soft drinks bar in the main hall.

The festival is open to all ages. Children under 12 have to be accompanied by an adult and due to the nature of the music played in the main hall, we suggest bringing along some ear protection for little people.

Back in 2017 we got very lucky and had a drumskin donated and signed by no other than Royal Blood. Together with some other very generous donations from local businesses, we will be holding the first SOUND Raffle. Tickets will be available to buy from the merch stall in the main hall.

There will be a merch and record stall run by Vinyl Vaughn, selling festival and band merch. Come and have a snoop and support the bands.
